Stephen Curry conceded the Golden State Warriors' heavy 144-93 defeat by the Memphis Grizzlies was "embarrassing".
Golden State, who were 12-3 at the start of the season, were beaten for the ninth time in their last 11 matches, after going down against the in-form Grizzlies.
It was the biggest margin of defeat in this NBA campaign, and the Warriors' difficult evening was compounded by Curry failing to score from the field for the first time in his 16-year career.
The four-time NBA champion was zero-for-six from three-point range, and went 24 minutes without such success.
Curry was left to rue the heavy defeat, but was optimistic the Warriors can turn their fortunes around.
"First time for everything, right?" he said when asked about not scoring from the field.
"I never thought that would be a situation or a result of the game. From the very jump, they kind of punched us in the mouth. We didn't have an answer. That was kind of embarrassing.
"We are going to keep saying it because I genuinely believe it: We are better than what we have been playing. We are better than what we have shown tonight.
"The vibes are way better. It's nice to say it, but you got to do something about it, and I feel like we can. Just wait and see."
Steve Kerr concurred things will get better for Golden State, but acknowledged it will take a significant improvement for them to achieve that.
"It was just a humbling night all around," he said. "They took it to us. They were great. We just couldn't get anything going.
"I know what our team is about. I know we've got competitors. I know we're going to bounce back, and we're going to regroup, so I'm not concerned about that. But we've got a lot of work to do to execute that."
