S. Sivasangari was ruled out of the upcoming Commonwealth Games after she got into a car accident on Sunday.

The 23-year-old was a passenger in a car that was travelling on the Maju Expressway when it was hit by a lorry.

The world no. 19, who sustained serious injuries to her head and body, was rescued from the car before it caught fire, and rushed to the hospital immediately.

In a press conference held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) on Monday, it is understood that she is currently in a stable condition.

Sivasangari was mooted as a gold medal prospect in Birmingham next month, where she was also supposed to be a co-flag bearer for Malaysia alongside powerlifter Bonnie Bunyau Gustin.
