India will be without Jasprit Bumrah for their upcoming T20 series against England later this month.

The right-arm fast suffered back spasms during his side's fifth and final Test against Australia earlier this month, leaving him unable to bowl.

However, Mohammed Shami returns to the international fold after more than a year on the sidelines.

The 34-year-old, whose last appearance came in India's defeat by Australia in the 2023 World Cup final, has undergone knee surgery and endured problems with his knee.

Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have not been included for the five-match series, which runs from January 22 to February 2.

The teams will then contest a three-match one-day international series.
