The 2022 sooka Netball Super League season tipped off on Friday at the Juara Stadium in Kuala Lumpur with early title favourites Johor Jewels and KL Wildcats notching up impressive wins.

Johor, who finished runners-up last season, signalled their title intent by thrashing the Kedah Sunshine 63-24 with their near all-star squad due to their massive pre-season recruitment drive.

Already boasting last season's MVP Pow Mei Foong and Best Attacker Nur Fariha Abdul Razak within their ranks, the southern team signed Best Shooter An Najwa Azizan from the Selangor Angels and Best Defender Nur Syafazliyana Ali from Kuala Lumpur.

Sri Lankan goal-keeper Gayani Dissanayake and Thai goal-shooter Sirima Samnaree also joined them as foreign players.

The Wildcats immediately responded to the Jewels' victory by securing an even bigger win, beating the Melaka Mystic 81-20.

It was their third straight big wins over Melaka as they won 91-13 and 90-21 in their two meetings last season.

Meanwhile, the Perak Phoenix overcame the Negeri Sembilan Venom 42-32 on the same day.
