Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik lived up to their top seeded status after they clinched the Korea Masters men's singles title in an absorbing final victory on Sunday.

The Malaysians achieved victory in a gritty manner, as they battled from a game down to beat South Korea's Jin Yong-Kim Won-ho 21-23, 21-19, 21-14 in a 66-minute thriller.

The triumph sees Chia-Soh secure only their second silverware on the World Tour circuit, adding to their Denmark Open title last year.

Eventhough this was a Super 300 event, the national top pair had to bring out every single one of their elite-level skills and experience to overcame Jin-Won in this final.

Like the semi-finals on Saturday, Chia-Soh were facing a scratch pair who is only a week old, but have punched above their weight to reach the final.

The first game went to the home pair, whose battling performance shone at the end of the first game, when they saved game point to take the 23-21 lead.

But the Paris Olympics bronze medalists stormed back to level the scores with a 21-19 win in the second game.

Chia-Soh left it late to mount their comeback in the game, and eventually kept their cool to get a over the line when Chia lashed a smash past Jin who was on the floor.

Boosted by that performance, the world number six pair found the extra gear in the deciding game to outplay their opponents to become the first Malaysian men's doubles pair to win this event.

This victory will also certainly boost Chia-Soh's hopes of qualifying to the season-finale World Tour Finals in December.
