Extreme action set up for Extreme Rules

In a very bland episode of Raw, WWE came to London and was televised from the O2 Arena, where 17,000 fans packed the place and screamed for anyone who came out, including the Golden Truth. Bayley as usual gets her racous ovation from the London crowd, while hometown hero Jack Gallagher had songs of "He's one of our own" from a small section of what is surely a Tottenham Hotspur fan, originally sung for Harry Kane. But that's football and this is about wrestling. And the next big event for Raw is Extreme Rules in 3 weeks time.

What better way to set up Extreme Rules than a Seth Rollins attack while Samoa Joe was conducting an interview, and the continuous beatdown of each superstar continued until it was announced they would take on each other in a match later that night. The match itself wasn't as extreme however, as they are probably saving those action for Extreme Rules.

The match ended when Samoa Joe had a turnbuckle opened, and right in front of the referee, threw Seth Rollins head first into the open turnbuckle, declaring Seth the winner by DQ. Joe did not stop however, as he continuously attacked Rollins, and had him in the Kokina Clutch, until Seth passed out. This gives Seth 2 victories over Joe, one via a rollup, and one via DQ. This definitely means Joe will win their Extreme Rules match, before both will go their separate ways.

Roman Reigns received as many boos as he got cheers in London, as he came to interfere in a One handed match between Braun Strowman and Kalisto, who wanted revenge for Braun's attack on him after their dumpster match. With the interference, their match didnt even get to start as both the Big Dog and the Monster among Men took each other out.

Roman stood tall in the end and this brawl would have been the perfect fit to setup their rumoured Ambulance/Stretcher match at Extreme Rules, except for the fact that Braun Strowman was to undergo a minor elbow surgery, which would rule him out for 4-8 weeks, definitely too long for Extreme Rules on June 4th and maybe even missing on Great Balls of Fire, Raw's ludicurously named PPV after Extreme Rules.

The cruiserweight formerly known as TJ Perkins was in action against England's Jack Gallagher, with Neville promising TJP a title opportunity if he could beat Jack Gallagher. TJP did beat Gallagher by holding on to the Gentleman's tights, leaving Neville in a precarious position of either following through on his promise and severing ties with his only friend on 205 Live or breaking a promise, which will probably end up with the same result.

The action in the cruiserweight match did not stop there however as TJP had Jack in a knee bar, and refused to let go until a limping Austin Aries came to the rescue before damage was done to Jack, which was how Austin damanged his knee in their match last week after TJP lost to Aries, but attacked him from behind. I won't be surprised if a stipulation match at Extreme Rules will be required to settle the heat between these 4 superstars.

Overall, each match on Raw this week seemed a bit longer than usual, possibly because of injuries and because not many superstars were on standby. Sheamus and Cesaro also won the tag team turmoil, in possibly the most entertaining segment of the night, which is kudos to the work that Sheamus and Cesaro have put in since turning heel against the Hardy Boys. However, it goes without saying that the rating for Raw are bound to dip even lower, if predictive story telling like these are the order of the day.
