Latrell Mitchell will remain with South Sydney Rabbitohs for the 2021 NRL season after a clause in his contract was activated on Friday.
Mitchell left Sydney Roosters to join their city rivals in January, signing a one-year deal with the option of another season.
The New South Wales State of Origin and Australia star will stay on with the Bunnies for a second campaign after the club locked him down.
Wayne Bennett picked Mitchell to start at full-back in the first two rounds of the season before the NRL was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On the day it was announced that NRL action is set to resume on May 28, South Sydney confirmed Mitchell is now contracted for another season.
The 22-year-old has scored 679 points from 98 NRL games, including 65 tries.
