The Hawks will be without Dewayne Dedmon for the rest of the season.
Atlanta shut down the center due to a nagging ankle injury, the team announced Sunday. Dedmon is expected to undergo a non-surgical procedure "to address ongoing left ankle soreness."
Dedmon is expected to begin a short rehabilitation, then be able to return to regular workouts.
The 29-year-old big man appeared in 64 games this season, averaging 10.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
He was signed by the Hawks last summer and is expected to become a free agent after the season ends because he exercised his player option.
