Indonesia dominated the pool at the Bukit Jalil National Aquatics Centre on the first day of swimming events at the 9th ASEAN Para Games, winning 11 out of the 20 gold medals on offer.

They also helped themselves to four silver and four bronze medals, while the other nine gold went to Vietnam (four), Thailand (two), Myanmar (two) and Singapore (one).

As for host nation Malaysia, they earned four silver and two bronze medals.

Carmen Lee (women's 100m freestyle S8), Anderson Anak Jamba (men's 50m breaststroke SB3), Julius Anak Jaranding (men's 50m breastroke SB13), and Zadrian Chan Zi Weng (men's 200m freestyle S14) were their silver medallists, while the two bronze came from Adib Iqbal Abdullah (men's 50m breaststroke SB14) and Puteri Nur Diyana Jawahir (women's 50m breaststroke SB14).
