Viktor Axelsen jokingly challenged Hugh Jackman to a match after the renowned actor commented he could see himself compete in badminton at the Olympic Games.
The leading star of The Greatest Showman made the remark during a recent Gold Meets Golden event, where Hollywood entertainers and professional athletes were brought together to support sports-related causes.
In response, the Danish shuttler offered to take on Jackman with a handicap.
"I would be confident to give Hugh a 18-0 lead and I bet I would still win," Axelsen told the Olympic Channel.
The defending world champion also backed Jackman, who is also known for his love of working out, to add the popular sport to his exercise routine.
"Badminton would be an awesome way to get a really good workout because the speed of the game is really fast," Axelsen added.
"You take lunges, you jump a lot, and your heart rate is really up there.
"We would welcome him in Denmark if he wants to try out badminton; I am sure that he will find that it's pretty brutal training."
Jackman has yet to respond to his invitation.
