Dallas Mavericks veteran Dirk Nowitzki improved to third in the all-time list for games played in the NBA.
Nowitzki's appearance against the Orlando Magic on Friday saw the 40-year-old pass John Stockton for third in games played with 1,505.

Playing in the NBA since making his Mavs debut in 1998, Nowitzki now trails only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560) and Robert Parrish (1,611).
The Mavericks forward and 2011 champion – who was the 2007 MVP – sits top-10 for all time points (seventh), top 20 in three-pointers made (11th) and top 30 in rebounds (27th).
