French Open: Pang Ron-Pei Jing secure another big final vs world No.1

All their efforts to remain competitive as professional shutters are paying off for Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing, who pulled off another upset to reach the French Open final.

The mixed doubles pair were in sensational form to knock out sixth seeds Guo Xin Wa-Chen Fang Hui of China 21-13, 21-9 to reach their second Super 750 final in a month.

Having only been paired in May, Hoo, 28 and Lai,34, are using this year as a trial run to decide if this partnership could work.

It has more than flourished, with the pair taking a silver medal at the China Masters last month, before they reached the semis of the Denmark Open last week.

"All the effort has been more than worth it. We are working hard to secure our finances and seek for sponsors on our own, and we aim to keep winning to make everyone happy.

"But here, the job is not done yet. We hope to play better tomorrow," said the pair.

Hoo-Lai will face another Chinese pair in the final.

They are top seeds and world number one pair Feng Yang Zhe-Huang Dong Ping, who beat the Malaysians at the China Masters final.
