After a strong performance at ONE: NO SURRENDER II last month, Fahdi “The Gladiator” Khaled returns to the ring to take on “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 in a kickboxing bout at ONE: A NEW BREED II, the previously recorded event that will air this Friday, 11 September.

Before the action gets underway, Khaled reveals his thoughts on the Thai star and what he has to watch out for come fight night.

“Superlek is one of the best boxers in Thailand. He’s well-known, and he tells the other boxers how to achieve and reach a specific level,” Khaled said.

The Thai hero didn’t get to that level without the use of one of his most dangerous techniques, and “The Gladiator” knows he will have to come into the bout in top form to try and stifle “The Kicking Machine’s” greatest asset.

“He’s got something with his left leg – it’s strong,” Khaled said. “His punch is really strong, too, so I’m happy to be against him in a match. It’s going to be such a war. This is really a challenge for me, so I have to be stronger, physically and mentally.”

The Tunisian athlete, however, is also entering the bout with a strong spirit.

“Superlek doesn’t scare me,” he continued. “I enter any match without any hesitation.”

Although the outcome of any bout is uncertain, Khaled surely feels confident heading into this contest against a man who has been unstoppable thus far in ONE Super Series.

“I’ve watched a lot of Superlek’s matches. He has a strong body and a strong left leg. I should look out for it because he uses it as a defense. I should also be faster in the match. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”

If Khaled can pull off the win against Superlek, he may just enter ONE Championship’s Athlete Rankings in the kickboxing division and perhaps take his rival’s spot. But will “The Kicking Machine” relinquish the #2 spot that easily?
