Boyd Cordner is confident he will be fit to lead New South Wales Blues when they attempt to complete a State of Origin whitewash of Queensland Maroons at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday.

The Blues skipper has been struggling with a calf injury and was not moving freely in training on Tuesday.

Sydney Roosters second-rower Cordner expects to be ready to do battle with the Maroons in Brisbane, where the hosts will be looking to avoid a 3-0 defeat.

"I've got the luxury of a long week and we don't have our main sessions until Thursday and Friday and then obviously Sunday," Cordner told NRL.com.

"I've got a bit more time but the calf's sweet. I'm pretty confident I'll be right to go."

Cordner sustained the injury during a man-of-the-match display in Origin II, which the Blues won 18-14 at ANZ Stadium to wrap up the series.
