Danish pair Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard stopped a second consecutive all Malaysian men's doubles final at the Malaysia Masters after they beat national pair Yap Roy King-Junaidi Arif in the semi-finals on Saturday.
The Danes put on a solid defensive display to win 21-19, 21-17 and ensure there will not be a repeat of the 2025 final which saw Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun beat Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik.
Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin had earlier confirmed their place in the final after denying Chia-Soh a second consecutive final appearance after they won 21-18, 21-12 against the competition's top seeds.
This will be Goh-Izzudin's second Malaysia Masters final after they finished runners-up back in 2017.
Hopes were high amongst fans at the Unifi Arena for Yap-Junaidi to join them in the final, but it wasn't to be despite the Malaysians valiant effort.
Nonetheless, Goh-Izzudin has the chance to ensure this Super 500 silverware remains with a Malaysian pair as they prepare to face the world number 18 on Sunday.
Goh-Izzudin, ranked ninth in the world, have been in good form having also reached the Thailand Open semi-finals last week.
In the men's singles, China's Li Shi Feng has the chance to defend his title after reaching the final.
He will face Thailand's rising star Panitchapon Teeraratsakul.
