Cardiff City have signed Liverpool outcast Harry Wilson on loan for the rest of the season, while Harvey Elliott has joined Blackburn Rovers.

Wales winger Wilson was linked with Cardiff's fierce rivals Swansea City, his former club Derby County and Nottingham Forest ahead of the transfer deadline on Friday.

However, Cardiff have won the battle to secure the 23-year-old after he missed out on a move to a Premier League club.

Wilson spent last season on loan with Bournemouth, scoring seven goals in 31 top-flight games as the Cherries were relegated to the Championship.

He made a first senior start for Liverpool against Arsenal in the EFL Cup this month but was deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield and is on the move again, having also spent temporary spells in the second tier with Hull City and Derby previously.

Another player who has also made a loan move away from the Premier League champions is teenage forward Elliott.

The 17-year-old England youth international has played nine times for Jurgen Klopp’s side since arriving from Fulham, but will now spend the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign with Blackburn.
