Atlanta United has agreed to a record-setting transfer for Argentine teen sensation Ezequiel Barco, according to multiple reports.
The MLS club will pay Argentine club Independiente $15 million plus 30 percent of any subsequent transfer fee before December 2019, ESPN Argentina reported (via ESPNFC.com), citing unidentified sources. That would be an MLS-record transfer fee.

The deal, if completed, would end a courtship that has been ongoing for months, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and bring to Atlanta United a midfielder who is considered one of the world’s top young talents.
Neither team has yet to confirm the deal. Barco is under contract with Independiente until June 2019. According to ESPN Argentina, Independiente also is in line to receive 10 percent of any future transfer fees after December 2019.
The transfer fee also would break the record for Independiente, surpassing what it received to send Sergio Aguero to Atletico Madrid in 2006.
