Defender Argzim Redzovic has voiced his frustration after still failing to obtain Malaysian citizenship despite spending nearly a decade playing in the country.
The Melaka player, who began his Malaysia journey with PDRM in 2018, said he is disappointed that his naturalisation application has yet to receive any response, even though he has fulfilled all the necessary requirements.

Redzovic revealed that he has been living in Malaysia for nine years, is married to a Malaysian from Pahang, and has two children born in the country -- factors he believes should strengthen his eligibility.
“I see Malaysia as my home, but until now I still haven’t received (citizenship). I don’t know what the problem is,” he said, expressing confusion over the delay despite having complete documentation.
He also disclosed that an application was submitted by Terengganu in 2022, but there has been no update on its status since then.
The issue has resurfaced among local football fans, especially following the recent approval of several controversial players who were granted Malaysian citizenship, with some already cleared to play as locals in the domestic league.
Redzovic’s case has now become part of the broader debate surrounding Malaysia’s naturalisation process, raising questions over transparency and consistency in player eligibility decisions.
