Danish mixed doubles shuttler Amalie Magelund has not only competed in the European Championships, but also won a medal while carrying her baby.
“This year’s European Championships ended with a bronze medal. This means this was also my last competition for now, as I’m taking a break from competition for a while because of the little baby growing in my belly,” posted the 26-year-old on her social media.

Amazingly, Magelund also revealed her baby is due in September, which meant she competed while being four-months pregnant.
In late March, the shuttler had announced her pregnancy and confirmed the European Championships will be her final event before she takes a break from competitive badminton.
Together with her on-court partner Jesper Toft, Magelund reached the semi-finals before a straight game defeat against English pair Callum Hemming-Estelle Van Leeuwen ended their journey.
But despite the loss, Magelund has made history for herself after winning a medal while being pregnant.
The only other shuttler on record to have competed while with child is Joanne Davies, who was 11-weeks pregnant when she represented England at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
