Malaysia’s rising men’s doubles pair, Kang Khai Xing-Aaron Tai, have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Japan Open at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium today.
The world No.22 pair had no trouble dominating the first game, winning 21-10 in just 10 minutes.
In the second game, Khai Xing-Aaron Tai continued their strong momentum and closed out the match with a 21-15 win in 26 minutes to reach the quarter-finals.
They will face either South Korea’s world No.1 pair Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Je or Japan’s Kakeru Kumagai-Hiroki Nishi tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s men’s singles player Leong Jun Hao had to settle for defeat against fifth seed Christo Popov of France. He lost in a three-game battle, 21-16, 11-21, 17-21, after one hour of play.
