Austin Rivers will be looking for a new team.

The Suns officially acquired the 26-year-old guard, along with Kelly Oubre, from the Wizards Monday in exchange for Trevor Ariza. But, Phoenix decided to part ways with Rivers later in the day, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources.

Rivers will become a free agent if he clears waivers.

The struggling Suns and Rivers agreed the guard “fits better on an older team that's pursuing the playoffs,” the report says.

Rivers averaged 7.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per game with Washington this season. He shot 39.2 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from 3-point range.

Rivers has also played for New Orleans and the Clippers over his seven-year career.

The Suns topped the Knicks in New York 128-110 on Monday to move to 7-24 this season.
