It came after Malaysia also won the eFootball and Dota 2 (Women) Grand Finals a day earlier.

With three gold medals, they finished top of the medal standings ahead of the likes of host nation England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who got gold medal finishes through eFootball (Women) and Rocket League (Open & Women).

The Commonwealth Esports Championship was an international event held between national teams during the 2022 Commonwealth Games, supported by the Commonwealth Games Federation.
