The Malaysia national men's hockey team got their 2018 Commonwealth Games campaign back on track with a 3-0 win over Wales on Saturday morning.
The Speedy Tigers, who lost 7-0 to England in their first Group B match on Friday, opened the scoring through Fitri Saari's penalty stroke in the 17th minute.
They doubled their lead in the 37th minute thanks to Joel van Huizen converting a penalty corner before Faizal Saari sealed the win with his goal in the 57th minute.
The win temporarily put them in second in Group B ahead of Pakistan, who will play against India later today.
Only the top two of each group will advance to the medal round.
Malaysia will next take on India on Tuesday.
