Ibu kepada bintang Minnesota Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns, meninggal dunia ekoran komplikasi yang berpunca daripada koronavirus.
Bulan lalu, Towns telah memuat naik video di Instagram mengesahkan kedua ibu bapanya telah dibawa ke hospital kerana kurang sihat.
Bapanya, Karl Sr., telah bebas untuk pulang untuk menjalani kuarantin di rumah, manakala Jacqueline diberikan alat pernafasan selepas kedua-dua mereka telah menjalani ujian COVID-19.
Menurut kenyataan yang dikeluarkan oleh Timberwolves, "Dia merupakan sumber kekuatan; seorang yang bersemangat dan penyayang.
"Semangat serta tenaganya amat sukar untuk ditukar ganti."
The Timberwolves memilih Towns sebagai pilihan pertama dalam NBA Draft 2015.
Dia telah diangkat sebagai Pemain Muda Terbaik NBA 2015-16 dan dua kali bergelar All-Star.
