London Broncos marked their return to Super League with a resounding 42-24 home victory over Wakefield Trinity in their opening match of the season.

The Broncos, playing in the top flight for the first time since suffering relegation in 2014, fell 12-0 down after 10 minutes but eventually hit their stride to record a curtain-raising win at Trailfinders Sports Club.

Craig Kopczak barged over for the game's first try on his maiden Wakefield outing and fellow new signing Danny Brough added the extras, with the latter also on target following Ryan Hampshire's score.

Matt Fleming and Jacob Miller traded efforts before Rhys Williams, Kieran Dixon, Eddie Battye and debutant Matty Fozard all crossed ahead of half-time, putting the Broncos on top.

Kyle Wood gave Wakefield hope after the restart, but the hosts ran in a further three tries to move well out of reach.

Williams and Battye each claimed a second try before Elliot Kear touched down to complete an impressive victory for Danny Ward's men.
