Lee Zii Jia said he will train together with Danish stars Viktor Axelsen and Anders Antonsen ahead of the upcoming Denmark Open (October 18-23).

“I’ve been in touch with Antonsen and Axelsen. I will be heading there a week before the Denmark Open begins to train with them,” Lee told Stadium Astro during his media day at the Sports Arena Sentosa on Saturday.

The Asian champion is ramping up preparations for the upcoming European leg that also consists of the French Open (October 25-30).

Besides that, he is also slated to compete at the Hylo Open in Germany and Australia Open in November, before the BWF World Tour Finals wraps up the 2022 calendar.

Lee, who is set to climb to third on the world rankings next week, is desperate to change his fortunes on court after early exits in his last three events - Malaysia Open, World Championships & Japan Open.

He took a short break for a getaway with his friends, and is back ready to fire on all cylinders.

“I took a trip just to get away from everything for a while. I’ve come back refreshed and I want to start doing well again. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but I trust the process will get me there,” he added.

Lee’s team also announced the Team LZJ x Paris Project earlier this week to kick off his Olympics journey in 2024.

“We are hoping to collaborate with more partners through this project. The Paris Olympics is just around the corner, and we want to prepare for it in the best way possible.

"As such, we are now opening our doors to welcome more commercial partners onboard,” said Lee's sister and manager.

Lee is the first shuttler in the country to have a full fledged team comprising coach Indra Wijaya, assistant coach Liew Daren, physiotherapist Sandra Fielder, fitness coach Lim Joe Hang and two sparring partners.
