In a recent video shared by an ardent Malaysian supporter who was in Hangzhou, China, Goh was surrounded by the local fans outside the badminton arena for attention.
The 27-year-old accommodated all the requests, and even looked surprised and a little shy by all the attention he was receiving.
It cut a heartwarming scene to see the Melaka-born developing a fanbase in China where badminton continues to be a hugely popular sport.
Perhaps this is also because Goh is no stranger to winning medals in China.
He picked up his second silver medal of the year, having finished as runner-up at the Asian Championships in Ningbo, China with partner Nur Izzuddin earlier in the year.
All in all, 2024 has been a marvelous season for the world number seven men's doubles pair who reunited last year after a brief split.
In total, they reached five finals and won the Japan, Arctic and China Open in the span of two months.
The pair’s achievement also meant they amassed US$353,587 (RM1.57 million) in prize money this year.
For Goh, reaching the WTF final with Izzuddin looked unlikely at one stage after he suffered cramps against Danish pair Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in the group stage.
But despite losing that opening match, Goh went on to recover and won the following three matches which took them into the final against Astrup-Rasmussen.
