S.Kisona conjured up arguably one of her biggest career wins after pulling off a huge 17-21, 21-13, 21-13 victory over India's Saina Nehwal to book a quarter-finals berth at the Swiss Open.

The former world number one may not be quite the force she used to be, but the victory was still nonetheless a massive major booster for Kisona, who endured a tough few months to find her best form.

Kisona's 55-minute triumph pits her against Thailand's Supanida Katethong for a place in the semis.

In the men's doubles, Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin all came through after straight-game victories over their opponents.

Ong-Teo next play Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto, Chia-Soh take on Germans Mark Lamsfuss-Marvin Seidil and Goh-Izzuddin are up against Leo Rolly Carnando-Daniel Marthin.

In the women's doubles, Anna Ching-Teoh Mei Xing also won in straight games and face Germans Linda Efler-Isabel Lohau in the quarter-finals.

They are joined by Vivian Hoo-Lim Chiew Sien, who play Ashwin Ponnappa-Reddy N.Sikki.

It was a good day for the Malaysians as two mixed doubles pairs also sailed into the last eight.

Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing face fourth seeds Mathias Christiansen-Alexandra Boje, while Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai are up against William Villegar-Anne Tran.

It was, however, the end of the road for Ng Tze Yong, who crashed out of the men's singles after a 21-18, 13-21, 12-21 defeat to Indonesia' Jonatan Christie.

Ng took the first game after initiating a battling comeback from 7-1 down to win 21-18, but Christie was much more clinical in the second game, and kept a healthy lead throughout the game which he won 21-13.

The defeat took the wind out of Ng, who caved 12-21 in the decider.

Chen Tang Jie-Peck Yen Wei also lost to fifth seeds Thom Gicquel-Delphine Delrue in the mixed doubles.
