National pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun ensured Malaysia will have representation in the Malaysia Open men's doubles semis after posting a straight game success.

Man-Tee were in cruise control throughout the contest against an unsettled Christo Popov-Toma Junior Popov to claim a 21-15, 21-11 victory in just 31-minutes.

For the world number 14 pair, it was business as usual in this Super 1000 event with Man dominating the front court and Tee sweeping up at the back.

The Malaysians, who are bidding to make it into the world top 10, may get their wish soon enough if they go all the way here in Kuala Lumpur.

Standing in their way of a final berth are Chinese pair Liu Yi-Chen Bo Yang, who also posted an easy straight game victory to reach the last four.

Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi failed to make it a double delight in the men's doubles after they went down 24-26, 15-21 against India's Satiwksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty.

The Malaysians' failure to close out the opening game despite having four game points to do so proved the turning point of this 50-minute contest.

This is the fourth time Ong-Teo have failed to progress past the last eight, having also lost in the same stage in 2022, 2023 & last year.
