Malaysia Open: Local interest ends after Aaron-Wooi Yik, Yew Sin-Ee Yi defeat
Malaysia's participation on home soil ended in the quarter-finals after both men's doubles pairs Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik lost their quarter-finals matches on Friday.
Ong-Teo fell 15-21, 9-21 against Japan's Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi, while Chia-Soh lost 21-16, 18-21, 13-21 against South Korea's Kang Min-hyuk-Seo Seung-jae.
In the first Malaysian match, Ong-Teo conceded the opening game despite starting well, as their opponents proved tactically sound to stifle the Malaysian.

Hoki-Kobayashi preferred to play on the counter-attack, and took their chances to pick some winners at the expense of home favourites who were left flat-footed at times.
They could not get their act together in the second game, conceding many cheap points and succumbed to a tame defeat.
Chia-Soh gave a slightly better account of themselves against the world champions, but will leave the Axiata Arena disappointed in their final game performance.
The Malaysians made too many mistakes and allowed their opponents to get away with a rather comfortable victory in the end.
Both defeats sums up yet another disappointing outing from the Malaysian contingent at the Malaysia Open.
It was reminiscent to last year where no representatives progressed beyond the quarter-finals.
