Malaysia were handed a tricky path at the 2023 Sudirman Cup after they were drawn against Chinese Taipei, India and Australia on Saturday.

With Australia being the minnows, Malaysia will be wary of the other two teams in their bid to make it to the last eight of the biennial tournament, which was largely dominated by China since its inception in 1989.

The national shuttlers are expected to go up against top players from both teams such as Chou Tien-chen, Tai Tzu-Ying, Lakshya Sen and P. V. Sindhu, among others.

On paper, India have the advantage over Malaysia in recent showdowns, coming out on top at the Asia Mixed Team Championships in February and the Thomas Cup last year.

The Sudirman Cup takes place from May 14-21 in Suzhou, China.
