Justin Hoh is one step closer to playing in the top tier World Tour tournaments after he reached a personal high ranking on the back of his Macao Open final.
Hoh jumped eight rungs to 37 following his exploits in the Super 300 event last week, which saw him lose to Indonesian Alwi Farhan in straight games.

The 21-year-old has even overtaken Lee Zii Jia, who has slipped to 52 due to inactivity on the World Tour circuit.
But more importantly, Hoh is just a few steps away from playing in the biggest tournaments.
Once he breaks into the world top 32, Hoh will be eligible to start playing in Super 750 and Super 1000 events.
Hoh believes with a little patience, he will surely improve.
“I’ve learnt to be more patient. I still need to sharpen my skills and match strategy.”
Against Alwi, Hoh did his best to match the Indonesian in the first game before his opponent eased away for the lead in the final stretch.
It was a humbling lesson for the national shuttler in the second game, as he went on to lose 15-21, 5-21.
But, Hoh would have taken plenty of positives from that tournament having gone that far.
The Macao Open final was by far his best result of the year so far, having crashed out in the early stages in his other outings.
