Malaysian men's doubles pair Teo Ee Yi and Ong Yew Sin took to Facebook to express their gratitude to each other after they crashed out from the Japan Open in the quarter-finals.
The duo lost in straight sets 15-21, 18-21 to Japan's Takuto Inoue-Yuki Kaneko at their last tournament together.
Teo and Ong will be paired up with Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong respectively following the split of the 2016 Rio Olympics silver medallists.
"This was our last tournament together," Teo posted on Friday.
"We used to play together, fight together, win together, lose together and also learn together. No matter what happens in the future, I wish you all the best in your badminton career, bro."
Ong also showed the same level of appreciation to his former partner.
"No matter what changes in the future, I wish you all the best in everything," he wrote.
"We went through everything together; thanks for everything during these two years."
The new partnerships of Teo-Goh and Ong-Tan will be tested at the 2017 French Super Series next month.
Meanwhile, in the men's singles, defending champion Lee Chong Wei dispatched of Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen 21-11, 15-21, 21-19 to set up a semi-final showdown with second-seeded Shi Yuqi of China.
The other semi-final match will be between world No. 1 Son Wan Ho and new world champion Viktor Axelsen, who knocked out Lin Dan and Srikanth Kidambi respectively.
