Lee Chong Wei made light work of K. Srikanth to progress to the men's singles semi-finals of the 2018 Badminton Asia Championships on Friday.

In their third meeting in the space of three weeks, the Malaysian shuttler cruised to a 21-12 first set win with his Indian opponent failing to get into the rhythm and committing several unforced errors.

Lee, who won the tournament in 2006 and 2016 and bagged a bronze medal last year, had a tougher time against the world number five in the second set.

However, he still managed to take control of the game and weather the latter's late rally to seal the tie 21-15.

With the win in 31 minutes, he extended his winning record against the Indian star at BWF-sanctioned tournaments to 5-0 and will next face Japan's Kento Momota, who dispatched Chou Tien Chen 21-5, 21-13, on Saturday.
