The victory confirmed Malaysia’s place in the knockout rounds, but they need to overcome India, featuring  the likes of World Championships bronze medalist B. Sai Praneeth, K. Srikanth and H.S. Prannoy, on Thursday (4pm local time) to finish as group champions and receive a favourable draw.

As for the Malaysia women's team, they play defending Uber Cup champions Japan in their Group W match on Thursday morning (10am).

The semi-finalists of the men’s and women’s teams also qualify for the Thomas & Uber Cup in May.
