World number 14 Lee Zii Jia set the men's contingent on their way with a 21-6, 21-12 triumph over Dmitriy Panarin, before Cheam June Wei made it 2-0 by packing away Artur Niyazov 21-15, 21-11.
Leong Jun Hao completed a clean sweep in the men’s singles department when he downed Khaitmurat Kulmatov 21-13, 21-13.
It was the men’s doubles next, and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik duly made it 4-0 with a 21-11, 21-11 success over Niyazov-Panarin, who experienced their second defeats in quick succession.
The whitewash was complete through upcoming pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin, who thrashed Nikita Bragin-Kulmatov 21-9, 21-4.
The victory confirmed Malaysia’s place in the knockout rounds, but they need to overcome India, featuring the likes of World Championships bronze medalist B. Sai Praneeth, K. Srikanth and H.S. Prannoy, on Thursday (4pm local time) to finish as group champions and receive a favourable draw.
