Malaysia Super League MVP Arif Aiman Hanapi made history by becoming only the third Malaysian player to score against Chelsea.
According to HarimauMYstats on X, the Harimau Malaya star matched the achievement of two former Malaysia players, who scored against Chelsea in 2003 and 2013.
Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) came close to beating the English Premier League giants in an international pre-season friendly, but the match ended 3-3 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium last night.
In 2003, Hairuddin Omar scored a powerful header when Malaysia faced Chelsea at Bukit Jalil. Malaysia lost the match 4-1.
Ten years later, Fadhli Shas also scored a header against Chelsea in the final minutes of Malaysia’s match against the Blues in 2013. Malaysia again lost 4-1.
