Warrington Wolves have suffered a huge blow ahead of the Super League season after veteran playmaker Kevin Brown suffered an Achilles injury that will keep him out for around nine months.
The 34-year-old vice-captain did the damage in training this weekend as Warrington prepare to get their campaign under way against Leeds Rhinos at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday.

England international Brown is set to miss the entire season after playing a key role in his side's run to the Grand Final and Challenge Cup final last year.
A club statement said: "Warrington Wolves can confirm that vice-captain Kevin Brown has sustained an Achilles injury at training over the weekend.
"Scans have since confirmed a ruptured Achilles with a recovery time of around nine months.
"The club will fully support Kevin throughout his recovery and rehab."
Warrington could seek salary-cap relief from the RFL with Brown ruled out, just as Castleford Tigers did after Luke Gale suffered a ruptured Achilles.
