Since joining ONE Championship last year, “Pretty Boy” Troy Worthen has established himself as one of the leading bantamweight contenders.

Currently undefeated and owning a perfect 3-0 record in The Home Of Martial Arts, Worthen is feeling pretty good about himself.

Despite his accomplishments, “Pretty Boy” knows it was a team effort that led to his success on the global stage.

The American athlete – who moved to join the Evolve Fight Team in Singapore – has been training under different World Champion instructors in boxing, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu among other disciplines.

Together with his fellow teammates, Worthen has helped elevate Evolve into one of the region’s premier martial arts gyms.

One match, in particular, resonates strongly with Worthen, because it showed the unity and cohesiveness of the Evolve Fight Team.

“The most enjoyable flashback would be my fight against Chen Lei in Singapore,” Worthen said. “It was my first time where I could fight in my new hometown.”

Feeling the support from the local crowd meant a ton to Worthen, and their warm welcome brought on a wave of confidence.

“I had all the Evolve people coming up every day, telling me they’re going to buy tickets and come watch,” Worthen said.

“I had more people who knew who I was since I’d already made my debut earlier.

“Singapore had a great crowd reaction, people were hitting me up in my DMs and just getting involved in it.”

“Pretty Boy” was moved by how the fans and the Evolve family rallied around the team.

“It was like everyone was joining the team. It might have been one of the best fight camps I’ve had,” Worthen said.

“It was my second time having a full camp with Amir Gani as my striking coach, and we really hit a stride and started seeing improvements in my striking.”

Everything went to perfection inside the Circle, as Worthen dominated Chen Lei with powerful ground and pound strikes to earn a second-round TKO victory.

“I was getting really confident and comfortable on my feet, our gameplan was to pressure him with strikes and it worked,” Worthen revealed. “A lot of things started going well for me there and I was really happy we got the win.”

Although the victory was its own reward, the strength of the Evolve team struck Worthen the most on that night.

“The team seemed like we all started to get in unison,” he said.

“There was a lot of us on that card. It was me, Amir Khan, Nong-O. The Muay Thai competition team, the kickboxing team, the MMA team, we were all working together.

“The whole thing was a very memorable and enjoyable experience.”
