Johnathan Thurston brought the curtain down on a glittering NRL career as the North Queensland Cowboys fought back to beat the Gold Coast Titans 30-26.
The retiring Thurston - the third-highest points scorer in NRL history - said farewell to Cowboys fans in a 44-6 win over Parramatta Eels at 1300SMILES Stadium last weekend but his side were made to work much harder in Robina.

Three first-half tries for the hosts saw the Titans go in at half-time with an 18-6 lead, but Ben Hampton crossed twice early in the second half to reduce the gap to two points with the help of Thurston's conversions.
Thurston then took centre stage to set up Gavin Cooper for a try that put the visitors in front for the first time - a touchdown that also saw Cooper become the first forward to score in nine consecutive Premiership matches.
The 35-year-old's chip fell perfectly for his record-breaking team-mate, who gratefully gathered and fell over the line.
Gideon Gela-Mosby then touched down with eight minutes left on the clock for a try that put the match beyond the Titans, who closed the gap in the dying minutes through Brenko Lee.
