Suns' loss to Warriors earns them worst record in NBA

The Suns' season ended with an even bigger implosion than many expected.

Phoenix dropped its 61st contest of the year Sunday with a 117-100 loss to the Warriors, clinching the worst record in the league and the best chance at the top pick in the 2018 NBA Draft with one game remaining.

The Suns will now have 25 percent odds to secure the No. 1 overall pick in the May 15 draft lottery, with a 64 percent chance of picking in the top three. Phoenix can't pick any lower than fourth overall.

Tanking has become a huge part of the NBA after a team's season seems to go south, so did the Suns do that? Their season seemed doomed from the start after they fired coach Jay Triano just three (losing) games into the season.

According to CBS Sports, the Suns are dead last in offensive rating, defensive rating, and net rating. The only other team to be last in those categories during a season was the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats, who only won seven games that year.
