With seven Muay Thai World Championships to his name, “The Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee Klong SuanPluResort has done a lot in “the art of eight limbs.”

Though he has yet to hold a prestigious ONE Championship World Title belt, that could soon change.

If he defeats “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai in their semifinal matchup of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament at ONE: NO SURRENDER III this Friday, 21 August, then he will take one step closer toward achieving that goal.

The victor of the semifinal bout will go on to face Saemapetch Fairtex in the final, and the tournament winner will get to challenge ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao for the gold later this year.

The matchup against Kulabdam won’t be an easy task for “The Million Dollar Baby.”

“Left Meteorite” launches dangerous punches and elbows from his southpaw stance, and it only takes one to knock out an opponent.

Sangmanee is well-aware of this, so he will need to find a way to land his arm-shattering left kicks while keeping his chin protected from the counters of Kulabdam.

He will also need to ease off the gas in this contest. Martial arts fans saw how “The Million Dollar Baby’s” high-pressure style worked to his favor against Kenta Yamada at ONE: A NEW TOMORROW in January of this year.

If he tries to pressure Kulabdam, though, he could very well walk into a fight-ending left hand.

With all this being said, Sangmanee’s key to victory is to discern when to use that left kick of his, and when he lets it go, it has to be quick. He has to double up – even triple up – on the output to prevent Kulabdam from letting his left hand fly.

Will Sangmanee’s left kicks stop “Left Meteorite” and earn him a spot in the final of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament?

Find out this Friday, 21 August, at ONE: NO SURRENDER III in Bangkok, Thailand.

Watch the show live on meWATCH, the ONE Championship YouTube channel, or the ONE Super App at 8:30 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT). Also, Channel 5 will broadcast the event on a next-day delay at 1 a.m. SGT on Saturday, 22 August.
