Jake Bibby and substitute George Griffin combined for four of Salford Red Devils' eight tries as their side stunned Catalans Dragons with a 46-0 away victory in the Super League.

Salford, tipped to struggle at the start of the campaign, won their third away game in as many attempts this season against a Catalans team who are typically strong on their own turf in Perpignan.

Catalans had earned an impressive home win over Warrington Wolves last time out, but they had no answer for the rampant visitors, who moved up to fourth in the table.

It was an ideal start for Salford when Joey Lussick crossed from close-range in the eighth minute.

Griffin and Bibby, who was making his first start of 2019, then went over in quick succession before the break to earn a half-time advantage of 18.

Bibby's first try had come courtesy of the video referee but there was no doubt about his second, which arrived just a minute after the restart and ended any home hopes of a comeback.

The pain continued for Catalans when Griffin got his second and Jackson Hastings continued his fine start to the season with a 54th-minute try, while Niall Evalds dotted down to ensure Salford had racked up 40 before the hour mark.

Salford kicker Ken Sio, who finished with 18 points, put the icing on the cake by scoring and converting the final try of the day shortly after Catalans' Samisoni Langi had an effort chalked off following a video review.
