John Bateman was taken to hospital on Saturday for tests on a suspected fractured eye socket sustained in Canberra Raiders' win over Penrith Panthers.
The England international was forced off in the first half of the Raiders' 30-12 victory after he failed a head injury assessment test having taken a blow to the face when attempting to make a tackle.

Bateman, who helped Wigan Warriors win the Super League Grand Final last year before leaving for the NRL, has enjoyed a promising first season in Canberra and Raiders coach Ricky Stuart is hopeful his problem is not too serious.
"They've taken him off to hospital to get scanned," he told a news conference afterwards.
"That's on an eye socket. Hopefully it's not too many weeks if it is long term."
John Bateman has failed his HIA Test and will not return to the field.
