ONE Championship Provides Aid to Local Communities in Singapore in Collaboration with ‘Food from the Heart’

‘Food from the Heart’ is an independent non-profit organization, established in 2003, devoted to alleviating hunger through efficient distribution of food. As of 2019, ‘Food from the Heart’ has over 10,000 volunteers assisting more than 44,600 beneficiaries across Singapore through its food distribution programme.

Those who participated in the CSR activity include Monica Millington, Nazee Sajedi, and Joy Koh, who are among 16 candidates who recently competed on the upcoming reality television show, “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.” They were accompanied by ONE Championship stars Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat, ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, and Hiroki Akimoto.

“Helping those who might need some assistance, be it in gifts, time, financial, care, energy, or love. It’s a good cause. I think it’s important to remind ourselves that not everyone is as fortunate as we are, and while a lot of Singapore is very affluent, not everyone is. Doing my little part to help those who can benefit from our time, care and love, it’s an amazing feeling. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the generosity of those who believed in me and gave me their time and care. Similarly, I would want to give to others what I have been given, so then can live a better, happier life. We can help immediately by just being more aware, mindful and grateful of what they do have, and start by helping the people they see on the streets. That’s a great start,” said Singapore’s Joy Koh, candidate on The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.

“I am thankful to ONE Championship for this opportunity to help distribute basic essentials for the needy, which of course will be of great help and encouragement to them. I love participating in these activities. It’s dear to my heart. We sometimes get caught up in our own lives that it’s easy to forget about others. But we have a saying in India – Karm karo, fal ki icha na karo, which means to do good deeds without expecting any rewards or gains. Whenever there are opportunities to help out, I always love to volunteer. It makes me feel happy inside. We need to be compassionate. We need to think about each other, always. That’s how we can make this world a better place,” said Phogat, Indian Wrestling Champion, and special guest athlete on The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.

“The Apprentice” is one of the biggest non-scripted reality television programs in history, judging the business skills of candidates who are competing for a job offer under a high-profile CEO. It has aired in more than 120 countries. The first season of “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” consists of 13 episodes, and is set to air in March.
