NBA trade rumors: Pelicans unlikely to deal forward Julius Randle

It looks like Julius Randle will be remaining in New Orleans.
The Pelicans aren’t expected to move the 24-year-old forward despite exploring potential deals for him before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources.
Sources: While the Pelicans have explored potential deals involving Julius Randle, it's unlikely he'll be moved before tomorrow's trade deadline. He's developed a strong bond with the team's coaching/training staff and there's a good chance New Orleans could keep him long-term.— Will Guillory (@WillGuillory) February 6, 2019
Randle, who is in his first season with the Pelicans, holds a $9 million player option for 2019-20.

The Pelicans will enter their matchup against the Bulls in Chicago on Wednesday 6 1/2 games behind the Clippers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They hold a 23-31 record.
New Orleans forward Anthony Davis will not sign an extension with New Orleans and wants to be traded, agent Rich Paul told ESPN in late January. The team has reportedly been in discussions about moving its star.
