The Hawks are considering selecting Real Madrid's Luka Doncic with the No. 3 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he may never play a game in an Atlanta uniform.
The Hawks could pick Doncic and then trade him to the Mavericks, according to a report from Atlanta TV station WSB. Dallas would draft Oklahoma guard Trae Young at No. 5 and send him to Atlanta, along with guard Wesley Matthews, in that scenario.

Hawks guard Kent Bazemore could also be included in the deal, or in a separate trade, the report says. The report cited unidentified league sources.

Hawks take Luka at #3.. trade him to Dallas at #5, then Hawks take Trae Young.
Baze might also be in play tonight as part of deal
Zach just got another text saying Hawks package #3 pick (Doncic) and Bazemore to Mavs for #5 (Trae Young) and Wes Matthews.@rjchoppy @MikeBacsik @1053thefan https://t.co/8kwkELZE8F

The Hawks would then try and deal starting point guard Dennis Schroder to the Clippers for the No. 13 pick if they end up with Young, the report says.
If the Hawks do end up drafting Trae Young... look for them to work out a deal and try to package Dennis Schroder to the LA Clippers at #13

The potential trade between Dallas and Atlanta was losing momentum prior to the draft, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.
Sources: Dallas’ pursuit of Atlanta’s No. 3 overall pick — for potential run at Luka Doncic — has lost momentum in recent hours.

The 19-year-old Doncic was a star in Europe in 2017-18. He was named the EuroLeague MVP and his Real Madrid team won the league title.
Young averaged 27.4 points and 8.7 assists per game as a freshman at Oklahoma last season.
The Suns are expected to take Arizona center Deandre Ayton with the first pick while multiple reports indicate the Kings will select Duke big man Marvin Bagley III No. 2 overall.
The Hawks finished last season with a 24-58 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2006-07.
