Celtics guard Marcus Smart and Cavaliers guard JR Smith were both fined for their roles in a fight that broke out during the Cavaliers-Celtics preseason game Saturday, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Kiki VanDeWeghe announced.
Smart was fined $25,000 for escalating the fight by pushing Smith in the back, while Smith was fined $15,000 for shoving Boston forward-center Aron Baynes in the paint and starting the confrontation.

Both guards were issued technical fouls, with Smart getting himself ejected from the game with 3:38 remaining in the first quarter.
The Cavaliers ended up winning the game, 113-102.
