According to the report, the Lakers have yet to confirm the pre-game ceremony, but the organization had previously sent a letter to season-ticket holders stating the Dec. 18 matchup against Golden State would feature a "special event."

It also remains to be seen if the team will retire his No. 8 or No. 24 jersey — or both.

Bryant, 39, retired from the NBA at the end of the 2015-16 season after spending his entire 20-year career with the Lakers.
