Kyle Kuzma could be in jeopardy of missing the start of the Lakers' training camp as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
The forward is progressing through rehab "slower than hoped," according to The New York Times, which cited unidentified league sources. The Lakers "fear" Kuzma won't be ready for the start of training camp.

Kuzma suffered an injury over the summer that forced him to withdraw from Team USA's roster for the FIBA World Cup. He initially was diagnosed with left "ankle soreness" in August and was sent home after Team USA's exhibition tour in Australia.
"Bummer [I] couldn't finish my time with [USA basketball] but that team will be just fine," Kuzma wrote on Twitter in August. "Excited to get healthy and back to LA and get ready for the real show get ready!!"
It's unclear at this point when Kuzma, who averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season, will be fully healthy to participate with the Lakers. He will be sidelined with DeMarcus Cousins, who tore his ACL in a workout over the summer and is out indefinitely.
