Ahead of the highly-anticipated fight between Gennady Golovkin and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Anthony Joshua backed the latter to come out on top.

The two boxers are set to duke it out in Las Vegas on September 17 (Malaysia time), which will see all honours held by both being put on the line.

Despite Golovkin having a 37-0 record with 34 KO wins, the unified world heavyweight champion revealed he is a bigger fan of Alvarez.

"I've loved Alvarez for a long time," said Joshua during the launch of Destiny 2.

"I love Triple G [Golovkin] as well, but before Triple G, I supported Canelo, and there's where my heart lies.

"He's young, he's still got a lot to achieve and he's achieved so much at a young age.

"I also like his attitude towards the sport [as] he doesn't disrespect the sport of boxing; he's a real ambassador for what I believe in."
